Secondary profile not receiving SMS

Same issue as described in #4639 -- cannot view new SMS in the secondary profile despite notifications (without content) being sent. After logging out of the secondary profile and logging in again, old SMS appear in the secondary profile but not any new SMS sent after the second login. This issue appeared recently and was not present in 2025030900, when I first set the secondary profile up.

Same issue as #4639 just as user awth13 reports above. I experimented for longer this time, using three profiles. Owner, old profile (from March 2024), new profile (from March 2025). My findings:

  • Texts will never sync to secondary users if "Allow running in background" is selected for that secondary user profile.
  • Texts reliably sync to the new profile upon login to the new profile. New incoming texts are not visible to the new profile after login. To see new incoming texts, I had to switch back to the owner profile, then return to the new profile.
  • Sometimes, in the new profile, I would have to actually open a conversation before a new text was visible.
  • Texts do NOT reliably sync to the old profile, no matter what settings I changed. I was unable to discern any pattern to when texts show up on the old profile.

Tried to use this on my Pixel 6 Pro running 2025091000 with no luck, it seems that if I use my SMS app to sync the app with the SMS database it will pull the messages but won't automatically, it would be nice to have this fixed. Thanks!

THANK YOU FOR THIS WORKAROUND. The default SMS app doesn't have the sync option, but the QUIK SMS app does. Apparently it's a fork of QKSMS? https://github.com/octoshrimpy/quik It works fine for me and I no longer need to switch back to the primary user to get messages. I can just tell QUIK to sync. Annoying, but way less annoying than it was.

I just have tried quick but for me no messages are received, also not after invoking "sync messages option"
