Widgets get removed after booting into Safe Mode
I'm not sure if this is GrapheneOS-specific or not, considering I don't know what changes/hardening (if any) were made to Safe Mode or the standard launcher. After booting into Safe Mode and rebooting into normal mode, app widgets get removed from the home screen.
- Add a widget to the home screen I used a widget from a third-party app, and placed it on the second menu of the home screen
- Hold the power button
- Select "Power off"
- After the device has fully powered off, hold the power button until the Google logo shows up
- Hold the volume down key until the device boots into Safe Mode
- Unlock the device
- Hold the power button
- Select "Power off"
- After the device has fully powered off, hold the power button to boot the device
- Unlock the device
The widgets disappear from the home screen.
A small bug also happens: The default keyboard and default browser are reset.

I've reproduced this issue, it's not a duplicate.
It may be intended behavior: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139
"Safe mode removes some Home screen widgets. If you use widgets, take a screenshot to help you put them back."
Not going to be changed by us in that case.
