After an update, SIM unlock screen is not presented during initial unlock

Since QPR2, after an update, SIM PIN screen is not an option during first unlock, only screen unlock. After you lock again, you're presented with the SIM unlock option.

Not able to reproduce this on Pixel Fold.

We certainly would have heard about this earlier if it was occurring frequently for many people.

Keep in mind that this would only be for the first time you boot after an update. So the way to test this would be to make a dummy release, update to that and see if you're prompted for the SIM PIN after updating.

I had this behavior on the last Vanadium (alpha .119) update: Downloading all files, when installing i got a server crash, GOS logo appeared, screenlock screen for password was displayed, but no sim lock pin screen. P6pro/raven

That's expected. What you experienced is a crash, not an actual reboot. That's a separate thing.

I had this once as well. I remember it happening after an update but i dont clearly remember. It was after QPR2 with the very small update i think.

This behaviour started with the 20240309 and the next update after that. I have not left the stable build at all. This is on a P8P.

Latest update correctly gave me SIM PIN unlock screen after an update to the latest alpha. It seems it might not be consistent. This can likely be closed unless people keep being able to reproduce this on the latest release and beyond.

Maybe it only happened with the initial QPR2 update as a one time thing.

Same. I got out of it by repetadly unlocking and relocking my phone because i have pin scrambling. Afterwards the numbers appeared.
