Night light doesn't follow schedule when switching user accounts

Open HelmetOwl opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

The night light feature doesn't work as expected when switching user accounts. See the below scenario:

1st and 2nd accounts have night light sunset-sunrise schedule enabled. Sunset occurs when you are logged into 1st account so the night light turns on, you switch to the 2nd account and night light turns off. You then manually turn it on. Finish up in 2nd account and switch back to 1st, night light remains on. Sunrise occurs and night light turns off. You switch back to 2nd account and night light turns back on, even though it's the middle of the day.

Suspected problem: the process that en/disables the night light at the specified time only occurs if the user account is active.

Suggested solution: check the expected state of the night light, according to the schedule, and act accordingly as part of the user account switching procedure.

This is on a Pixel 6a. It might be an upstream issue but there's no way for me to test that to be sure.

I did search but apologies in advance if this is a duplicate and I didn't see it.

This happens for me too with a Pixel 7. I have only one account/profile though, does this behavior fix itself if you change the color mode to Natural or Adaptive?

This happens to me as well on my Pixel 7 with the newest version of Graphene installed. It has been this way for many months.
