Option to force orientation based on phone orientation

The Camera app seems to ignore the phone rotation when choosing the orientation of a photo. If I have auto-rotate off and I try to take a sideways picture, the app will still decide the picture should be sideways. An option to force the orentation to sync to the phone rotation would let me take pictures at an angle in the proper orentation.
