Uncropped mode with lens selection instead of continuous zoom

I would strongly prefer to be able to select my lenses and then manually crop later instead of having this awful continuous zoom where it's difficult to reset to uncropped ultra wide, main and zoom cameras.

This would make the camera app substantially more usable, as it stands I have to avoid using it due to this issue

Zooming is not simply cropping the image on modern devices. Photos and even video frames are made from data merged across multiple frames. For photos, it can be many frames. Digital zoom to 2x will capture much more data at that zoom level than you can obtain by zooming it after the fact by zooming into the same part of the image. At least on modern devices, the camera is not just giving you a frame from the image sensor and zoom is integrated into how it works.

It's easy to go to the ultra wide camera by zooming out all the way. We could add a button to return to 1x. The switch between main and telephoto is often not as simple as just going to it at 5x if it's a 5x telephoto camera. It often doesn't work as well for low light and the zoom level it gets used will be extended based on light level. It may not get used at all if it's too dark. Pixels adjust that dynamically and the zoom shortcut they provide only reliably switches to telephoto when it's not dark. Even indoor lighting turned up all the way can often be too dark for it to switch at the base value.

A return to 1x at the very least given how much better the main sensor is than the ultrawide would be very beneficial, as a photographer I'd like to be able to take raw format photos with the uncropped sensor of possible however

The preview being cropped in some way, our app trying to implement WYSIWYG for preview and image/video based on the selected aspect ratio, and having support for manual lens/camera selection are totally different issues.

Does the resolution of issue #244, #87, #14 together resolve the issue you're referring to here?
