In most cases this happens is because the plugin fails to highjack the JavaScript WebAuthn functions quick enough. I will have a look into this use case (GitHub + Firefox) and try to check if the issue can be resolved.

It can happen with Yubico demo site too but it's less frequent. If system dialog wins it will win every time until the browser tab is reopened.

Good luck outrunning Windows security WebAuthn dialog on Microsoft account. I couldn't no matter how many times I tried.
