data on different views

Hi guys, First of all huge thanks to @Gottwik and the other contributors for this awesome piece of software. Really, it looks by far like the cleaner, most efficient node CMS !

I may be wrong, but I have not seen in the documentation how to share content files between templates, eg for example if I want to have generators for news/glob articles and I want the last three ones to have a sample in the main page. Is there a simple way to fetch and send some custom data into a template ?
