When working on a task I regularly add annotations to help me remember what I have been doing. It would be nice to get a readout of what has been done on a particular day or what was done during a period.

One alternative is to split the task into smaller pieces so that this can be done within the current filter system for tasks but I find that sometimes annotations seems more appropriate. For me annotations is a great way to add information in a more relaxed way.

So you might want to query tasks where the annotations were from today, and not show older annotations?

Yes, that would be one use case. It would be nice if one could filter according to the general time syntax used elsewhere in taskwarrior. Maybe an extension of this would be to be able to filter for changes made in a specific project during a specific time period, or even globally, but that might be a different feature request I suppose.
