Update Installing from Source Instructions

1. The current directions suggest installing from master which is still on v1.7. They also call this the "latest" version, which in the documentation corresponds to the develop branch. This is a pitfall (#1006). The instructions should probably pull the version from setup.py and recommend explicitly installing the latest release.
2. setup.py install is deprecated.
