Capturing from The Internet Archive (archive.org) not working

Open petesimon opened this issue 6 months ago • 5 comments

Thank you all for your excellent project.

Firefox 138.0.1, 64bit Windows 11 22H2 (22621.4317), 64bit Gopeed v1.7.0 Gopeed addon v1.0.3 in Firefox

  • it is enabled, showing a green bubble in my toolbar

Capturing downloads from google takeout and some other sites within firefox work fine. But capturing downloads from The Internet Archive does not work at all, regardless if I am logged in or not (https://archive.org/account/login). Of course, I first always login to the Archive website before attempting to use Gopeed to capture a download from that site.

I need the capturing to work for restricted items that require login on the website, for example this https://archive.org/details/homebrew-romsets

What more information do you need form me? Logs? or links? I can provide them.

I tested fine on Firefox, do u had config size filter?

No, the size filter is disabled.

you tested it how? I opened takeout.google.com and downloaded files 1 GB each using Firefox and the addon of Gopeed and the Gopeed application automatically captures the correct link and downloads the file.

But none of that happens when I first login to https://archive.org and open this link https://archive.org/download/x9_v1.1_20220311_rk3032_M8_20230420_release_v2.0 and click any file in the list. The Gopeed application or the addon of Gopeed is not noticing that I clicked on a file on The Internet Archive. Be aware that I have adblock and other addons in Firefox. What do you recommend that I do ?

If I can't reproduce this issue, it might be difficult to fix unless I can debug it in your desktop environment.

Ok. I have also MS-Edge and Chromium. Do you want me to install Gopeed extension in those browsers and test them on the web site archive.org ?

I tested Chromium and tested MS-Edge 64bit in my Windows 11. I don't know their versions. They work fine with downloading files from archive.org as long as a login user/password is not needed.

Did you test the latest Firefox 64bit in Windows 11 with the website The Internet Archive archive.org ?
