Support multi-layer slides

General support for slides like multi-layer TIFF or NDPI z-stack images.

This is generally blocked on support for this in OpenSlide: https://github.com/openslide/openslide/issues/31.

Multilayer images are well supported in Bio-formats library. Could it be an option?
