Ultimate 64 WiFi password constraints

Open Yeahronimoo opened this issue 4 months ago • 0 comments

The length for the WiFi password seems to be capped at 21-ish chars. You guessed it, mine is longer: 42 characters.

If I save the config to a usb-drive, and edit the file on a windows-computer to contain the longer password. Then load the edited config on the U64, it accepts the config. But it does not work. When I go to [f2]WiFi settings the wifi password is not ok. The first 22 chars are correct, the rest is replaced with 7 wrong caracters (random Petscii). When I select the password and press [return] the first 22 characters are displayed, but I cannot type additional characters. When I just press [return] the first 20 characters are displayed followed by an asterisk (which it wasn't at het inputbox). When I press [return] again, it behaves as if that is the password including the asterisk. Subsequent changes are retained, as long as I do not exceed 21 characters. The WiFi-menu allows 22 characters. The main menu (with the entries Flash/temp/usb../net0/wifi) allows 64 characters, but jumps back to the screen with the WiFi networks, seemingly without doing anything.
