[Ultimate-II Plus] Fairlight 1337 Demo not loading

Hi !

I have downloaded the Fairlight 1337 Demo from "https://csdb.dk/release/?id=242855". No problem to run it on Vice64 Emulator but it does not start at my C64 with Ultimate-II Cartridge! I have tried the old 3.10a FW and now I am on FW 3.11e, but the only thing I get is a permanently "loading sound" from the Cartridge.

Also tried loading without FastLoad.

Any Ideas ?

I tried this demo on U64 (which has the UII+ internal) and the demo worked fine for all 3 discs.

Normal demo-ready settings?

  1. Ensure all other IEC devices are detached or disabled (only one drive enabled and connected).
  2. Disable any carts
  3. Disable overlay ROMs (drive or kernal)
  4. Disable Soft IEC
  5. Disable printer emulation
  6. Drive 8 is the only enabled drive

... ahhh ... thank you ... loading and playing now ... so far. ... but I got a crash/hang (white screen) on disk 2 after some time of playing the demo !?!

Your c64 might have the VSP bug so demos that use that VIC feature will crash. Search the web for "c64 VSP crash" and you should be able to find demos to test if your VIC has the issue. VIC issues have nothing to do with the UII+.

I'd strongly suggest that BEFORE posting issues here about a certain software title, to test that very same title on the same C64 with a real 1541 drive.
