Easy Flash cartridge and Reboot C64 option.

Open radius75 opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

I noticed when running the game "SNK vs Capcom" that only turning off the C64 for about 30 seconds completely erases the memory and allows you to run this .crt from the beginning. Is it possible for the "Reboot C64" option to clear the memory to completely restore the initial settings as after a 30-second restart? The game can be downloaded from here: https://youtu.be/fP0wBpNTXv8?si=awLOGmlxX0hqjnzQ

Save cartridge option not working?

Let me specify that this is about Ultimate2+ and the real C64. I have no idea how it behaves on Ultimate64.

Save cartridge option not working? I don't really know what this option could be useful for in this case..

-- You can see it on Vice with this .crt There is a difference by doing a soft reset Alt+F9 and a hard reset Alt+F12.

BTW I have noticed more such cases before with other cartridges (e.g. the BlackBoxV4 cartridge Music Intro, if you skip it (reset button instead of spacebar), it will not appear again until the C64 with U2+ restarts for 30 seconds, and even requires much more time. This is the correct function of this cartridge, it is supposed to work this way until the C64 is fully rebooted. This has no negative impact on their use.

But in the case of an EF-type game, after restarting/rebooting, it starts during combat and not in the game menu, which seems to be problematic ;)

Therefore, it would be useful if the "Reboot C64" option works just like a full reboot using the power button for an appropriate period of time.
