1541ultimate U2+L Variant Rom upgrade failure

Some failure when upgrading from .10f to .10i. Used the menu to select the new .10i firmware file to run the upgrade. The screen immediately blanked and never returned. After 10 minutes, I restarted the system. No buttons on the cart work. Lights all all on, from left to right Green/Red/Amber/Green. Holding the menu button down during restart does not put you into recovery mode. C64sx works perfectly otherwise, just no cart functions whatsoever.

OH... I just posted a similar (blank screen) issue (I was mucking with Kernel ROM's)... but now seeing the total lack of response for your issue, hoping for help is not very encouraging :(

Did you ever resolve your issue?

Actually Gideon got me straightened out. In my case, I had to reprogram the cart. Have you tried to boot the system while it was connected to ethernet (DHCP or static, however you set it up), and tried telnetting to it? On my sx-64 if the cart settings weren't 100% compatible with the system, I could still telnet in and re-configure it from there.

Thanks for the reply. Thanks to my SX-64, I actually managed to reset it's firmware as shown in my post. And now learning about the Telnet option now... just in case :)
