Ulticopy fails after 2 disks

Open Flexmaen opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

I used Ulticopy for copying a bunch of disks, and can remember that it worked fine with some older firmware.

However, using 3.0 and 3.2 Ulticopy will give me a "Error reading disk..." message after copying two disk sides (=1 disk). I will have to reset the drive, then it will work with the next 2 disk sides.

(Using an C128D, drive in 1541 mode).

I've already read about that bug in nthe 1541ultimate.com forum some time ago.

Test result from that time: It helped to quit Ulticopy after every disk (It asks if you have one more disk to copy). I do not remember if it has be be quit after every disk or if after 2 disks if sufficient.

I did try to quit after 2 disks which did not help. So maybe after 1 disk - I'll try. However that cleraly is a bug anyway.

Certainly. But until fixed, knowing a workaround is certainly good.

Is this a specific c128d + 1571 drive + ulticopy issue?

Seems to be a C128 (or specific C128D) issue. I did try with my SX64, and it worked with both the internal 1541 as well as with an external 1571.

I've seen the same issue with a 128D with its internal 1571 drive. Attaching a 1541 works fine, so this seems a 1571 related issue. Mine is a 1571CR (ie, builtin one of a 128DCR) with DOS 3.1
