Weird disk loading issue

U64 Elite FW 3.10/1.37

So I test a TON of releases on a daily basis and generally use my Ultimate 64 Elite to work through my backlog with VICE and other emulators on standby when I run into issues...

Today I was testing Airborne Ranger by CCI.

On the Ultimate 64, upon loading Side 1 of the disk you are eventually greeted with a screen that states "Mission not accomplished...........Press fire to continue" When you press fire it greets you with a "Please insert your roster diskette......Press fire to continue" and loads off the disk for a second and again asks you to insert the roster diskette thereby making this particular image unplayable.

Testing the same .d64 disk image in VICE works as intended. Upon loading Side 1 of the disk you ere eventually greeted with a screen that states "Mission not accomplished...........Press fire to continue" When you press fire it takes you straight to the games main screen where you can start a new mission without even prompting you for the roster diskette which is the expected behavior.

I'm not sure where the problem lies exactly with this one. Images attached....

I was able to get to the menu a few times with this version. Now it's not working anymore. Tried many times in a row with different Drive Speeders and none, pretty strange.

The original game needs the roster file on a separate disk. Formatting a roster disk from within the game produces errors and needs several times to finally get it formatting a working roster disk. I've tried it with this version and a working g64 of Airborne Ranger too. Looks like this might be related to issue: https://github.com/GideonZ/1541ultimate/issues/243

(Anyway this is a useless version of Airborne Ranger - tile is missing and the mission "create a diversion" is broken. If you scratch the "roster" file on the disk or inserting a blank disk, you'll get "file not found". Selecting "cancel" will bring up the main menu.)
