When joining a server it says “Tried joining on Java edition. Is floodgate set up correctly?”

Open Jengle12 opened this issue 7 months ago • 7 comments

Describe the bug

When I try to load into a server I cannot join and right before joining it appears with the message.

To Reproduce

  1. Join a server in 1.20.51

Expected behaviour

After joining the server you may experience this issue. I am unsure if this happens on all server who do not allow early versions before 1.20.4 or if this is a setup issue.

Please send a full log (latest.log file) via mclo.gs, and a geyser dump (link that you get after running geyser dump in the console

happens to me occasionally too on bedrock with a global account linked.

This problem happens to me too, and it's been a while, for some reason floodgate ignores the player which makes him try several times until he succeeds, I always use the latest versions of both floodgate, geyser, and paper,

This problem is very common, I have this frequently, the player tries to connect, and for some reason it is recognized as a Java Player, when trying again, floodgate recognizes it normally, this has been happening for a while, I have already tested it using the standalone version of geyser and I didn't see this problem, it seems that it only happens with the plugin version, I'm always searching on the geyser discord, about this error, the last observation I saw from Chris, was to set the use-direct-connection to false, however defining this, it generates several errors and they cannot connect, I don't know how I can solve this, or if there is actually a solution, I have already sent the dump, logs, etc., and the only response I receive is to update the geyser, floodgate to the latest versions, where in the dump itself, clearly shows that I am using the latest versions of both plugins.

the last observation I saw from Chris, was to set the use-direct-connection to false

this is only relevant for the last 1.20.4 Geyser-Fabric build. It should not be disabled on other platforms

I am running into this as well on 1.20.4. use-direct-connection set to false "fixed" it. Is there any chance that a backport of https://github.com/GeyserMC/Floodgate-Fabric/pull/122 may help?

I am modded so I cannot update for now, I would really appreciate a fix release for that version. Plus not having direct connection is causing issues with latency, which gives Java players a leg-up on Bedrock.

Also this issue should probably get moved to the Floodgate or Floodgate-Fabric repo.
