Scatter Check Failure

On MacOS 10.15.5 I get the messgage: Scatter Check Failure "It looks like the new version does not yet have an asset file. Please try again soon."

If I click OK, I get a dialog asking if I would like to keep my locally cached version of scatter. Answer yes launches scatter with broken icons and doesn't launch for signing transactions from web. Answer no asks for a Scatter Embed zip file, that I downloaded from the link in the message but gets stuck on 'checking zip file'.
