Switching Language

Open amqannasa opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hello,

I researched regarding switching the language of the website but did not get a specific result. Does Publii support multi-language? and if so, how can I switch the language from one to another?

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Currently we are working on App UI translations. Multilanguage support for pages is in our plans, but currently without any ETA, firstly we need to finish plugins feature which will be developed after finishing v.0.39.

It's been a year and multi-language is what's preventing me from using Publii on a few bigger projects. Any updates regarding multi-language websites?

Hey @chrismarquardt ! I'm also eager to get this feature as well. It's currently next on the roadmap.

Have you come across this thread? https://github.com/GetPublii/Publii/issues/60 It contains some really useful tips and tricks shared by other users on ways they've implemented multilanguage.

For now, I'm personally using the Google Translate widget (example 1, example 2).

You can follow along this gist to set up it up yourself: https://gist.github.com/candidexmedia/03c0b74ca88a4bdec06cf0148d6758ad

OR, you can use this user-created plugin: https://plugliin.eu.org/simple-website-translator/
