My Vision:

8x colorized buttons with base colors for color selection Text field for manuall entered RGB value Show selected color with colorized white texture

40x40 buttons with formspec-size 0.2 (8x8 formspec size) as "Image". Pressing a button the selected color is applied to the button texture

This way the painting is possible

Additional functionality: Save the image as "File" on removable or HDD like text files Print the image as text does: The printed paper needs to be enhanced to view printed image

Fears: 40x40 =1600 buttons creates a long image_button[] formspec chain. Maybe we run into performance issues
