distro agnostic release or at least build instructions

Not everyone is using ubuntu (I'm using arch which has an outdated version on the aur) and thus a distro agonistic release would be nice such as the pling store (kde store and gnome-look)

Build instructions are available in doc/COMPILING.md . A distro-agnostic release might be difficult because of the nature of extension libraries, since this isn't a standalone program per se.

that's why I said something like the kde store it could in theory be packaged as a dolphin plugin and released there. Then any distro running KDE can install and use it like this.

gnome-look is the equivalent for gnome although I don't know if they have plugins for there file manager ( I remember that was a thing but that was a while ago when it was still called Nautilus.) gnome doesn't really support plugins and extensions anymore

Its still called nautilus btw, they just changed the displayed name

ah, haven't used gnome in a while so idk much about it and if its possible to package something like this as an extension on there store
