Problem

What I have tried
Haven't tried anything yet.
The connection is refused. So there is no server on the ip/port that you have set in the Host option in the config file.
Please make sure that the address is right and your MySQL server is reachable.
Kay, and then the host has to be in "", right ?

it should also work without it as long as there aren't any special characters in it

I have correctly copied and pasted my database details but still, it is not accepting it. What do i do ? There are characters like ^,=,. and + in the auto generated password

Is it still failing with the same connection refused error? Is your firewall setup correctly to allow connections to your MySQL server? Is your MySQL server running on the same or a different server?
Yes it is still failing. Yes it is allowed. No it is on a different server, but other plugins worked with MySQL with different servers.
