I don't really understand the point of this. Once we're deprecating imaginary / complex, we wait the 10 releases, then remove them. So why an extra `-preview` ?
Wouldn't `auto ref` be an option here ? From recent N.G. discussions it looks like it's exactly the kind of situation it is used in.
