Put the "replace" button back for a data

Currently, it is not possible to update data by replacing the source file. You must either create a new data item, or manually update the data, without using the GeoServer. In previous versions, it was possible to update data by replacing it via a "replace" button. Would it be possible to reintroduce this button?
