Increasing speed

Hi there, I am in quite the predicament: I have gigabit ethernet connection, but no wifi at my room, and I have to upload a few hundred thousand pictures to google photos from my phone, so I have been using gnirehtet, but the speed is, well, low- around 60Mbps Is there a way to increase the output speed of the VPN tethering? thanks in advance

Using a better cable and port helped me. Also the phone CPU power for converting the photo to packets also limit the performance when we are speaking for 60Mbps
