Oh, but gnirehtet requires at least Android 5.0, adb reverse does not work below 5.0.
I'm surprised you don't get an error when it executes adb reverse.
Same for me with android version 8.1.0 and model MS50X. BTW no vpn is configured and device does not connect. However, I can ping my PC, but can't configure DNS and router.
I'm experiencing the same issue on my Pixel XL: Android 10. It worked flawlessly on 9.0. I get the ADB key confirmation, can see activity in logcat, but the VPN prompt doesn't appear. Perhaps they've changed something?
Could you test on current master, please? (it should be fixed by f8681809a28a0073f791f0d9eae65da02ae73c3d, but I'm not sure with Android 10)
@rom1v Thank you for your quick response! I'm currently attempting to build from master , but am getting some errors that I don't understand. ./gradlew build fails with this stacktrace output and it fails with an identical output with Gradle 5.6.2 installed. Rust is at 1.37.0 and OpenJDK-8-JRE installed and this is an Pop_OS! [Ubuntu] 19.04.
I'm inexperienced with this, so if I've missed something, I apologize.
I don't know why you get this error. Someone had the same here: https://discuss.gradle.org/t/no-value-has-been-specified-for-property-lintclasspath/32203
OpenJDK-8-JRE
You need openjdk-8-jdk too.
I have met this problem too, with huawei Android 9.0.Hope someone can help me build the master branch, because my envirenment can not work properly. Thanks a lot.

For those that ended up here after searching for this error, the solution (for me at least) was to set the ANDROID_HOME environment variable.
