agree the definition of the section field
The sections field is currently used to loosely associate a term/slot with a particular section of the metadata, it is poorly defined and its use is not consistent. To address this we need to clearly define what the Section field is meant to be used for?
Suggestion:
Each term relates to an area of metadata collection, by defining those areas one can divide the terms into logical sections to aid term identification and enable more logical construction of templates by grouping terms together based on the sections.
We agree on the definition conceptually, but it needs to be reworded.
We already use the LinkML subset concept. See https://genomicsstandardsconsortium.github.io/mixs/#subsets.
We can annotate the schema using a linkml slot to describe what subsets are. It should show up in the yaml file near the top. We want it to display on the documentation landing page. We don't currently have a description, so we should come up with one and include this description.
