modifications to mainly the MISAGS checklist

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. This issue is about Metagenome-Assembled Genome (MAG) and Single amplified genome (SAG) At ENA we are having to make some changes to the MISAGS checklist and wanted to discuss these, as they will be useful for others using their own implementations of the MISAGS checklist with eukaryotes. It would be useful to have a discussion what we are doing at ENA to see if it is widely applicable. If so, it then many be worth making these relatively minor changes to the checklists.

Describe the solution you'd like A use case has arisen where they are pooling several single cell samples of eukaryotes to build the assembly, MISAGS is still the closest checklist. For certain fields where the sample is eukaryotic (and not prokaryotic), some fields are less applicable. What we did was make some fields recommended for MISAGS and added a sentence to the description of the field stating that these are still mandatory if there is an associated SAG or MAG.

• Sequencing method - made optional for all MixS checklists
• Assembly software - made recommended for MISAG and MIMAG checklists
• Contamination score - changed to recommended in the MISAG checklist with a note in the description of the field “In SAGs contamination score is mandatory for prokaryotes and optional for eukaryotes”
• Assembly quality - Changed to recommended in the MISAG checklist with a note in the description of the field “In SAGs contamination score is mandatory for prokaryotes and optional for eukaryotes” - this may be updated to mandatory in the future once values usable for eukaryotes are added
• Completeness score / Completeness software / Taxonomy identity marker - Changed to recommended in the MISAGS checklist with a note in the description of the field “Mandatory for all samples directly linked with SAGs or MAGs”
