FYI: different INSDC repos use different linkml slots to key mixs terms
- ENA uses the "title" as the "term name"
- NCBI GenBank uses the "name" as the "term name"
About ENA's use:
- ENA use the "title" as it is often more descriptive and less ambiguous. Many users don't bother to check the definitions.
- A downside of this is that "title" is "possibly" more likely to change than a short name.
- In ENA all terms are granted their own numerical db keys and we also maintain synonyms, so it is does not matter much if there is a "title" change. It will matter even less in the future when we implement checklist versioning.
(I was requested to post an awareness issue of this, following a CIG call)
