gmt spatial -Sb specify unit

I see that gmt spatial -Sb bust be in data units, such as degrees. Is it possible to add a feature where we can specify the unit we want to use to create a buffer? For instance, if I wanted a buffer of 100m, you could say: -Sb100e.
