Constant Crashing When Streaming from Linux

I've been using Moonlight Wii U for a while now as a convenient way to play my PC games on the big screen, but upon switching to Linux Mint it has become unusable. On Windows, I was easily able to stream at 900p55 with Ethernet, and 480p60 without. Now, regardless of resolution, streams have two main problems:

  • Video corruption appearing when closing windows. (PC) desk (Moonlight Wii U) desk_bad
  • Starting an app will almost always cause the stream to instantly crash and return error 12. If this happens, the stream will not start again until the app is closed.

I know this isn't an issue with Sunshine/drivers, because I can easily stream on my other devices with no problems.
