@h3o66, hi, you've recently done Velocity via PaperMC API, please have a look at the Purpur core. It is a fork of Paper with better performance and chips.
I'll get back to you with a Server Request when the Pufferfish kernel for 1.20.2 comes out and I'll drop you after that. ^^ Although there is a Folia project (a Paper kernel fork for multithreading), but it's only in the build stage.
As you might expect, the Pufferfish core came out for 1.20.2, so I think if you compare Purpur and Pufferfish priority, it's better to start with Pufferfish, for it's a more optimized core aimed at performance.
