Accessibility Features
Following this week's reboot, the Accessibility features icon keeps enabling itself and appearing in the system tray. While I can disable this, it is eventually re-enabled.
A ticket has been submitted.
The Accessibility menubar item is part of the standard Menubar items configured in JAMF Pro for all users.
@Vanbella It's required to be persistently enabled? I can see turning it on at install, but allowing a user to turn it off should be allowed.
Hi Eric. We standardized standard Menubar items for all users. If you want i can exclude you from the policy.

I don't need to be special @vanbella, I just think that forcing extraneous settings on folks is not the right direction.
I'm seeing this Accessibility features icon appear as well. As something I previously disabled, it is confusing to have it reappear. It is also confusing to disable it now and then have it reappear again whenever I reboot and makes the system feel less predictable and reliable.
Menubar icons that appear despite explicitly disabling them: date/time, time machine, accessibility, display mirroring, keychain access, sounds
This is confusing (why is there a new icon?), frustrating (I thought I turned that off!), and downright annoying since I expect my icons to be in a certain place and now I'm clicking the wrong things.
After disabling yesterday, these icons reappeared in my menu bar today:
- accessibility
- keychain access
- sound
- time machine
- date/time
HI Andrew
The menubar items added via JAMF policy as we needed to enforce bluetooth conrtols. Were in the the process of resolving this issue so only the Bluetooth menubar item is enforced.

It's been over a week since any unexpected menubar items appeared for me. Yay!
Yes we changed the menubar policy, so as to ONLY enforce the bluetooth icon.
