Mix Shader node fails with Interactive render quality
"mix shader" node is "supported" as it is available in the selection menu when RPR is in use and has no exception listed here... but it does not work.
Issue
- "mix shader" node works as expected for eevee, cycles and RPR "final"
- "mix shader" node fails to mix with RPR "interactive" render quality set.
- "RPR layered shader" also fails with RPR "interactive".
Steps to Reproduce
Connect 2 shaders to "mix shader" note, set render to RPR "interactive" and observe that shaders are not mixed.
System Setup (Environment)
OS: Linux CPU: 5900X GPU: RX6800 Blender 3.3 / RPR 3.5.0
Detailed Description
- Please fix the "mix shader" node for RPR "interactive".
- Consider removing "RPR layered shader" as it duplicates the functionality of "mix shader" and makes RPR less compatible with eevee / cycles.
- Consider testing RPR "interactive" and RPR "final" supported nodes against eevee / cycles (with a sensible margin for render engine difference)
thank you for your request mix shader not supported by RPR "Interactive" yet by the core side, and this issue is valid for all supported OS: Windows, Linux, macOS
Thanks for the response. Is there a list of "blender" nodes ( I try not to use RPR nodes ) that RPR "Interactive" supports as this is ambiguously / incorrectly described in the manual?
hi, RPR interactive is now primarily focused on full Material X nodes support with USD Hydra, so the list of supported RPR nodes and materials will be extended in the nearest future. thank you
