CTD on complex files when trying to use multiple gpus

Open BrunoDSL opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Issue

As the title says, ProRender crashes to desktop when attempting to render a complex scene using both my gpus (GT710 and RX550). On those scenes, just using the RX 550 renders fine. Only using the GT710 CTDs as well. The GT710 presents no issue when rendering under Cycles using CUDA.

Steps to Reproduce

Scenes I used to test this are the following Demo Files

  • Blender classroom
  • Monster Under Bed
  • Car Demo Just select ProRender as your engine and try to use a AMD and NVIDIA card at the same time on either scene.

System Setup (Environment)

Windows 10 x64

NVIDIA GT 710 on 456.71 AMD Radeon RX 550 under AMD Adrenalin 22.7.1 and 22.9.1 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450

Blender 3.3

Issue persists in version 3.5 of ProRender.

Issue persists on version 3.6.0 of ProRender under OpenCL mode. Blender version updated to 3.5.1. HIP option cannot be tested as it doesn't support GFX8/Polaris gpus (due to support for them being dropped in ROCm 4.x)

There is an NVidia bug using OpenCL. Sorry but we can't work around it. Thus we can't really share Nvidia and AMD GPUs right now with OpenCL mode.
