ProRender Blender V3.3.5 Smoke Volume issues (Scaling and Fire)

Open djtutorials opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

System:

Ryzen 3960x RTX3090 64GB RAM Windows 10 Blender 2.93.4 ProRender Weekly V3.3.5

Issue

After baking smoke+fire simulation, smoke volume scales incorrectly or translates incorrectly. Fire doesn't show up with volume emission (not sure if the fire emission is working right now). Was really looking to do a smoke volume tutorial soon since it's so fast but after a few attempts, this scaling issue keeps popping up.

I noticed that if I copy/paste the elements into a new file and run the simulation again it is possible to continue working with it but after a few attempts, this got a tad tedious. Is there a setting that is incorrect?

Steps to Reproduce

Setup Quick Smoke, run simulation. After a few changes/bakes, the smoke domain becomes incorrect (scales and/or translates smoke to another location or does not match the wireframe preview smoke in render view) . Also it does not match when compared to Cycles (see images). Please note that on the first few bakes it seemed to work okay but after messing with some of the settings on the domain and volume emitter, that's where issues keep coming up.

Update: I noticed that if I delete the smoke domain, recreate a domain, and select the adaptive domain option, it scales the smoke incorrectly. If you de-select the adaptive domain and re-run the simulation it will be correct.

I add it to the next sprint.
