Will FSR4 be open source?

Open xanscale opened this issue 4 months ago • 8 comments

I can't find any information about this, my question is not about the supported hardware but about the source code license.

Thanks

PS if yes, there is any ETA ?

If it's true, AMD YES!

Just so everyone has context, they accidentally committed what appears to be FSR 4 then reverted it shortly after. I'm not sure where it legally stands now considering the licenses involved, ChatGPT tells me that since it was a accident it can't be used legally speaking even if it's under MIT, so it's pretty much ""source available"" at most I guess?? Take that with enough salt to kill 12 whales roughly though, might honestly be legal grey area even I'm the furtherest thing from a lawyer. Hoping AMD releases it in a more official capacity, not to pressure them just because they made a mistake though, up to them ultimately
