This is typical. Intel does this too with their projects. "Requires xyz processor we made." They are processor companies. They have to promote their own stuff. They're not going to say "works great on our competitor's stuff too!".

Notice how even the classes where we get into special instructions simply use types exposed by the MSVC compiler. These types generate code that works on generic platform architectures.
