All the more reason we should be including timezone data in the datestamp, then!
Why do we need an extra field? If we know it's in DC, include the Eastern timezone data. If we don't know where it is, don't include timezone data. Then...
I disagree. The ISO 8601 standard defines a consistent format for dates and times with various degrees of certainty. Using separate fields to encode this information requires developers to learn...
