  • search multiple data sources
  • categorized search results like ensembl
  • just show a table view of results for now

It would be great if the optional use of wildcards could be implemented as well.

There are some fundamental limitations with the default generate names scripts. It can autocomplete (kinda like wildcard on the end) but wildcard at start is probably not easily done. Could try out https://github.com/elsiklab/jbrowse_elasticsearch which can match partially inside descriptions or keywords
