create a snap package for use with ubuntu and other distros
Snap packages seem to be increasing in popularity, so that might be an avenue for easier install on some popular linux distributions like Ubuntu. Not entirely sure what is involved in creating a snap package yet but something we might want to look into as we are getting further down the path of easier distributions.

I’ve looked at snaps and similar packages (flatpak, appimage) before, they seem to be mostly used for executables — like the helics-app Docker image.
Probably would be a good fit for GridDyn or GridLab-D apps.
hmm, might still be useful, might be more appropriate once helics-fmi and helics-bbx are fully operational and can be installed along with it.
