Great to see someone is working to take on keeping django_q developed. I wanted to let you know of another fork, which may have code and fixes you might find useful: https://github.com/paperless-ngx/django-q

We're transitioning to celery instead, but hopefully some of the fixes and improvements I made over there could be useful to this project!

Thanks a lot for sharing! Looks like there is some overlap (which makes sense), but will check on the other commits, there is probably quite a bit that I can use.

There are some very nice ideas in the IDEAS.md file too. Will definitely pick some up.
