replace "workaround" batch files with pyw
why use batch for this, anyway?
to kill the background terminal interface (hence the @echo off)
why change it?
- batch files are not cross-platform
- the internal call it uses to run python is very specific and varies depending on installations
no, but like, why change it? this repository hasn't gotten a commit in years!
i love gd cologne
the solution
every installation of python comes bundled with a way to accomplish the same thing, out of the box: simply renaming your .py file to .pyw (short for "python window"). this ensures that the output is hidden and no terminal instance is created in parallel with the window process
i recently got back into VVVVVV via 3DS homebrew/CFW and found this repository. it piqued my interest so i'll probably be contributing to this pretty often despite its lack of activity in recent years. this is more of a "dummy commit" to prepare my fork for the massive influx of other QoL improvements, bugfixes, features, etc.
~~also it just really hurts to look at the langbar because of those pesky batch files~~
