I suggest this be closed. Kai is no longer being developed and is almost certainly out of date compared to current AWS. This might be better tracked elsewhere.

It might be better to revisit this after moving entirely to Java 11.

@imnasnainaec At the time of suggesting that workaround in here I hadn't implemented it yet. When I did this, I also found that a repo checkout is required by codecov....
