ESP8266 Weather Station Integration

This project looks great and I am planning on making one using an Arduino Nano. For my second one, I'd like to ditch the RTC and use an ESP8266 in place of the Nano. The ESP could ask for network time to set the time and date. Once this is working, I would like to add the functionality of Daniel Eichhorn's weather station code. Would anyone like to assist in this programming effort?
