firefox currently has a bug where all AVIF appear to be darker, even if they're lossless. It's the same for all encoders (gimp as well) it is a firefox issue....

vmaf fails on arch as well (probably every linux) seems to be due to the bundled dependency? because it doesn't touch the actual library which is installed on my system...

well "hanging" and "maxing out your CPU to do a conversion" are different things, the background should be killed when you move, that's a thing to report to the LF...

AVIF / WebP won't be added to photoshop / serif affinity etc because they're video algorithms and the companies don't seem interested in adding that at all. JXL: Adobe, facebook...
