[FEATURE REQUEST]: Social Media Image improvements

I'd like to discuss the possibility of adding a custom social media image to replace the default GitHub info card when sharing the repo. This is an example of how it looks when you share the repo on Slack:

On sites such as Twitter and Facebook, the default GitHub card looks rather unattractive and would normally get lost in a sea of posts and images. By adding a custom image for the repository, we can create something that is slightly more eye-catching.

Describe the solution you'd like

The process of adding a social media image to a GitHub project is very simple, as detailed here. I can design and post the image myself and one of the maintainers can add it to the repo from the settings if everybody likes it.

Describe alternatives you've considered

The only alternative is to leave the default image which is informative, but if it gets posted on social media sites specifically, it doesn't look that attractive.
