Example update
We need to update the example files and images. According to the rule 1-n connections should be modeled as trees, while n-m connections are represented in the flat layout...
about which examples are we talking, can you point me to an example of trees / "flat layout"?
There are some example hdf5 files in the wiki which are outdated. In former versions we stored all entities "flat" in the respective subgroups of Block. For example, Sections and Sources would have been stored as children in the same level irrespective of their actual relationship. I.e. they could logically been children of a parent section/source but existed as siblings in the HDF5 tree. The same applied for Representations which were located in the respective group below block. Now they are children of DataArray. (here are the examples: https://github.com/G-Node/pandora/wiki/Represent-Ephys-Data)
Nowadays, all 1-n connections are implemented in a nested way while the n-m connections are established referencing with the ids and having the actual entities in the respective groups below a Block
moved to alpha2 :)

there will probably be changes in the near future. I move this issue to the future milestone
